Would you like to know more on the details of this initiative? Given the nature of Sunday mornings, we can’t stop for an hour to explain all the details of the “Build My Church” initiative. But at this Vision Night on May 10, we’ll do just that! Join the pastors for this special night of detailed information, prayer, and consideration of why the local church is the most important institution in the world.
If you have already attended a Life Group “Build My Church” Vision Night, there’s no need to attend. This will essentially be the same information.

We will always be working to plant more churches.
why now?
1. Our church continues to grow! Since 2019, our church has grown by over 1,000 people. That’s greater than 500% growth!
2. The Treasure Valley continues to grow! Since 2019, the Treasure Valley has grown by around 100,000 people. We need more churches to reach the lost!
3. We have a pastor ready to go! Since Pastor Josiah Smith arrived in 2022, he has been a huge blessing to our congregation. He’s proven himself in teaching the Word and shepherding God’s flock, and we’re excited to send him out to lead Compass Bible Church South Valley.

God continues to send us people hungry for the Word of God. Even at 3 services, our current facility is maxed out!
We believe God is calling us to build an ideal facility in an ideal location to further God’s work in the Treasure Valley.
why here?
God graciously provided 17 acres in the heart of Meridian, Nampa, and Star. With the Hwy. 16 extension in the works, this location is at the center of future growth and development.
Even at present, more of our congregation lives within 20 minutes of this property than our current facility!
It would be difficult to find a more ideal location to minister to this valley for the next 50 years!
what will this cost?

plant a church
Compass Bible Church Treasure Valley exists because of the generosity and sacrifice of Compass Bible Church in Aliso Viejo, CA. No money has been sent back to this church as repayment; the hope has always been that we would “pay it forward” by church planting in the same sacrificial and beneficial way.
Therefore, we aim to set aside $500,000 from this initiative for the new church plant.
Not all costs are financial! We will be sending some of our very best men and women to plant this new church body.

Church Planting Staff
Pastor Josiah Smith joined the pastoral staff at Compass Bible Church Treasure Valley in May, 2022. He has been an invaluable member of the team as the church has grown. A graduate of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, he and his wife Mackenzie are eager to further God’s work in the Treasure Valley through this plant.
In 2018, God providentially brought Tyler Sanborn and his wife Sadie to join Compass. After 10 years working in education and serving in various roles at Compass, Tyler has answered the call to full-time ministry. He is pursuing an MTS with an emphasis in Biblical Counseling from Cedarville University.

cost to
build a building
A conservative estimate for constructing a building is $300 per square foot, which includes construction, site improvements, and interior finishes. In addition, we will need to furnish and equip the facility for ministry.
We are planning to build an 80,000 sq. ft. facility to meet the needs of our growing church.

Think about it…we are trying to do something that is humanly impossible. If our goal is to see disciples made, that will require radical transformation from the inside out in a way that cannot be manufactured by human effort. It can only be accomplished by God.

3. We follow the sacrificial example of God

The Bible is clear: the Mission of the Church is to make disciples, and every Christian is to be engaged in this mission. For this initiative to be successful, we need YOU to engage more than ever in the work of the local church!
Your “build my church” commitment
Jesus is the one who is ultimately building his church.
Yet in his infinite wisdom he has chosen to use people as his instruments to accomplish his mission. If you are a Christian, Jesus is going to use you to build his church.

Join us on Thursday, May 22 for a special evening focused on how to wisely invest in the cause of Christ through the local church. We will look at how to creatively, legally, and advantageously contribute assets like stock, real estate, and other investments to initiatives like "Build My Church."
