Care ministry

Care ministry

The purpose of the care ministry is to provide prayer, encouragement, and practical support for those who attend Compass Bible Church Treasure Valley.

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35

Prayer

The purpose of the Prayer Ministry is to connect those who need prayer with those who desire to faithfully pray for the needs of our church.

Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it. (John 14:13-14)

Cards

The purpose of the cards ministry is to send handwritten notes through the mail to Compass saints, including individuals, couples, and families, who may be encouraged or refreshed by receipt of a brief, personalized message from another Compass saint, which ideally includes a brief passage of Scripture.

So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. (Philippians 2:1-2)

We presently do not need any more people to join the Cards team. You can check back here in the future to see if we have a greater need.

Meals

The purpose of the meals ministry is to provide a level of meal support in addition to that provided through Compass Life Groups. This could include meal requests from Life Groups who are struggling to meet all of their “meal train” requirements. Requests can also come from individuals. Please do not be shy or reluctant in any way to ask for help.

“’For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ (Matthew 25:35-36)

Quilts

The CBCTV Quilt Ministry, Tabitha’s Hands, has been established to provide handmade quilts to members of our church who would be blessed by a tangible expression of God’s love and encouragement during a time of prolonged illness, surgery, or hospitalization. Quilts will also be made and given to families dedicating their children to the Lord at the time of the dedication ceremony.

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.
1 Peter 4:10

Diana Hartman and Donna Sellers are seasoned quilters with experience serving in a variety of quilt ministries and they have graciously stepped forward to lead Tabitha’s Hands.  If you are interested in serving or participating in this ministry, please contact them using the form below.
